Blog 11 “Never Give Up On Your Dreams”

May 15, 2021

Dear Family, Friends, and Clients,

Ever feel like giving up on your dreams?  People who give you discouragement, put you down, and say "you won't make it and go anywhere in life?"  I have.

After graduating from cosmetology school, it took me about eight months to find employment as a cosmetologist.

One of my former instructors has given me negativity as well but I did not let that get to me nor stop me from achieving my ambitions.  "Sometimes in life, we must learn how to take constructive criticism and how to handle it in a positive way in order for us to improve ourselves. "

I rather have people be strict on me than being so lenient.  I like taking challenges, explore my horizons, get out of my comfort zone, and take risks. I will keep going to reach my dreams no matter how hard it seems, the struggles, and will survive during this pandemic.  I have envisioned my holy grail by executing my accomplishments, be motivated, and determined to fulfill my dreams.

Blog 10 "Reaching Out To Others"

April 15, 2021

Dear Friends, Family, and Clients,

The month of April came too soon. This year is going by so quick.  As we are in Phase 3 in Washington state,  we still have to follow protocols due to COVID-19 and be cautious.

Thinking back during my past years with my career, there was a time I needed help with my business when I was struggling.  I was so used to helping others but when it came down to myself, I was hesitant to ask for help. So I got the courage to reach out to others to help me with my business.  From old peers and instructors from school, to sales consultants from beauty supply stores.

I have attended so many hair classes, seminars, and events related to my career. Building clientele was my biggest problem from the get go.  But it will take years to build a steady clientele.  Was I attracting the right clientele for me? Was I marketing myself enough by using the right strategies?  I needed guidance during my business.

Sometimes in life, we are afraid to ask for help when we need it.

A lending hand, a lending ear, and helping others throughout this pandemic.

We are one big family as a community!

I pray to all for many more blessings to come your way!

Yours truly,

Jennifer

Blog 9 “Keep Moving Forward”

March 15, 2021

Dear Friends, Family, and Clients,

I can't believe it's March already! One more week until we mark a year from the COVID-19 shutdown. A lot has changed drastically.  We may be all struggling during this pandemic, but we are still surviving and continuing to live life to the fullest.

As someone once told me, "Keep moving forward and do not look back."  We all get so caught up with our busy lives but the most important thing to ourselves, is our health.  People tend to forget to make time for self-care. Especially to check on your health.  I, as a cosmetologist, am always standing, being productive, multitasking, and being proactive.  I need to make sure I have good posture while giving hair services to my clients to prevent from getting injured like carpal tunnel or tendonitis.

I have made my 9 year anniversary mark on March 6th as a cosmetologist.  I celebrated it early last Sunday on February 28th at my Open House Event at work with friends and clients.  I am proud of myself for coming along this far, my accomplishments, and hardships.

Bigger and better things are coming my way!  Just more blessings,  getting out of my comfort zone, keep chasing my dreams, explore my horizons, and never stop going for my passion.  I will continue to do my best in order to become successful.

For services, BOOK NOW for an appointment!

Yours truly,

Jennifer

Blog 8 "Staying In Is The New Out"

February 25, 2021

Dear Family, Friends, and Clients,

I hope all of you had fun in the snow during Valentine's Day weekend due to a snow storm.  As we all know,  Kitsap County got moved forward to Phase 2 Again effective on Valentine's Day.  It was suppose to be on February 15th, but Governor changed it to February 14th to be effective due to valentine's day plans.

Staying in is the new out since there isn't much to do during this pandemic and the capacity due to COVID-19.   It has been very tough in the hair industry. Sometimes I am at my wits and just wanna throw out the towel but I need to remember that I went to school for my passion and completed 1800 hours, got my license, and gotten this far.   I will be hitting my 9th year anniversary mark on March 6th as a licensed cosmetologist.

Please join me on February 28th, to celebrate my accomplishments since I had to postpone my Valentine's Day Event due to the snow storm over the weekend.

I am still running specials for this month. BOOK NOW for an appointment with me and redeem your discount coupon JMAE10OFF!

Yours truly,

Jennifer

Blog 7 "Acceptance of a Virtual World"

February 10, 2021

Dear Family, Friends, and Clients,

In today's society, we are prone to social media in this generation.  Ever since COVID-19, we started doing zoom meetings, webinars, more of vlogging, blogging, videos, livestreaming and virtual online events on different platforms.

It was hard adjusting and stressful at first accepting everything and doing remote working and schooling.  For some people, it was tough for them considering they had to balance their work life and kids.  For some, it was convenient for them to work from home and take care of their kids and do remote learning with them.

Accept your mistakes, accept your faults, and accept your failures.

I take COVID-19 as a blessing in disguise.  It was for sure unexpected but I was capable to handle it in different ways.  I was able to improve things, learn from my mistakes, and got more focus with my business by starting to do my marketing services last year with REIGN based in Seattle.

I have a big support team and they are all very encouraging.  They motivate me to become a better person, to stay focus, have persistence, to stay strong, and constructive criticism.

I have a Valentine’s Day Event coming up this Sunday, February 14th from 5-9PM at the barber shop! It is an open house with refreshments provided. Masks are required and limited capacity only. Beats are provided by DJ Shmix. See you there!

I am also running specials this month for all of my services at a 10% off discount price so BOOK NOW for an appointment!  Use code JMAE10OFF when scheduling!

Yours truly,

Jennifer

Blog 6 " Moving forward from 2020..."

January 30, 2021

Dear Family, Friends, and Clients,

I hope you all are doing well for the first month of 2021.  The new year has been great for me so far.  Work has been slowly picking up again and trying to stay steady. I have started to do mobile services again lately in the Seattle area.

Every opportunity I get, I take advantage of it.

Governor Inslee extended the second lockdown until January 11th.  Some restaurants in the Kitsap County started doing open air indoor dining. I am glad to hear this because a lot of small businesses have been struggling, especially in the food industry.  We may still be at 25% capacity, but a little improvement goes along way.

After hearing another strain of COVID-19 from the United Kingdom, I am aware and alert to always follow protocols by wearing a mask, social distancing from others, and sanitation.

I hope we all recover from this pandemic and always support each other, help one another, and stay connected with people.

Love you all!

Blog 5 How I survived 2020...

January 20, 2021

Dear Family, Friends, and Clients,

Hope you all had a great holiday season!  It was a bit different this year due to COVID-19 but we all made it. Let's recap on my crazy year of 2020.

January - It was a new year to start.  The whole "New Year, New Me." saying...  Instead of me saying that, I wanted to make improvements on myself and my career.

February - When I heard about the coronavirus the first time over the news, I was scared and worried.  When I noticed my business was slowing down, I had a feeling we were going to be shut down.

March - I made my 8 year mark anniversary as a licensed cosmetologist. The big news I did not want to hear.  Personal services was shutdown. I was devastated and did not know what to do and what to think about my financial hardships.

April - Marketing was my plan for the longest time for my business so I got serious with it during quarantine.  I started to watch webinars through zoom meetings from Pixel Parlour located in Kent.  I filed unemployment for the first time after they passed the bill for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance for small businesses.

May - We got approved to Phase 2 on my birthday on May 28th in Kitsap County to reopen businesses after about three months. We immediately reopened the shop the next day. I was excited to go back to work and finally got paid from unemployment after waiting for ten weeks pending.  The week before my birthday, I was on tv on KOMO4 news and was one of the chosen ones to talk about my opinion about unemployment fraud.  I also got the stimulus check.

June - I had a big influx at work and it was the busiest month I had.

July - Work started to slow down again. I was frustrated and stressed out due to my financial.  My sister gave birth to her first child and I have another niece named Arielle. I started hiking again.

August - I picked up a second job as a door dasher since I was struggling to pay my bills due to work slowing down.

September - I partnered with Reign from Seattle to do all my marketing services.  I have been friends with the founder, Brian Franada, for five years now.  I chose this company because Brian is very proficient and his team is very well organized. I have attended their events in the past and had great experiences with them.

October - I made my 8 year work anniversary at "A" Barber Shop in Silverdale. I had a work event for it and that was very fun.

November - Thanksgiving was spent at my sister's place in Bellevue with my parents. It was nice spending time with family.  We had our second lockdown on November 18th due to Governor Inslee.  I was glad personal services wasn't shut down this time but it was down to 25% capacity and still had to follow the protocols.

December - Christmas and New Years Eve was spent at home due to the lockdown still and was extended until January 4th.

What I learned in 2020 was to not take things for granted, to have faith, be patient, have perseverance, and not to GIVE UP  on your passion.  I put my trust in God that things will get better.

Surviving this year was incredibly hard, frustrating and stressful but I overcame my mistakes and learned from them.

Hopefully 2021 will be a better year for us.

December 20, 2020

Dear Family, Friends, and  Clients,

The year is coming to an end soon and 2020 has changed our lives drastically.  After hearing Governor Inslee extended the lockdown for three more weeks till January 4th due to COVID-19 cases are still rising, it puts me in a fear status if I was going to survive with my business.

As much as I have been struggling with my career, I keep my faith in God.  Patience is such a virtue.  At one point during this unprecedented time,  I thought to myself, "Is my livelihood going to be over?" but I would never give up on my dreams and passion due to COVID-19!  I had to change my mindset and have a positive attitude about it. I have worked so hard on this.

I hope 2021 will be filled with many more blessings to come , positivity, and life will get better. The only way we are going to beat this virus is to support and help each other

It all begins with an idea.

May 28, 2019

Dear Family, Friends, and Clients,

On March 17th, I got shutdown with my business for about three months due to COVID-19.  During quarantine, I had to think something quick to continue my business during this time.  I thought about investing in marketing to build more clientele and revenue. I have partnership with REIGN from Seattle to do all my marketing services.

On May 28th, we got approved to Phase 2 in Kitsap County and reopened the next day.  I had a huge influx in June for about three weeks til I noticed it started to slow down.  As time passed, I found out about the military restrictions in July.  Since the majority of my clientele is military, I had to start building more hair color clientele since I am a licensed cosmetologist.

This pandemic has taught me to be patient, have hope, be productive, and be proactive with my business.  I have been hanging in there even though it is a struggle sometimes but I gotta keep going and staying positive about things.

I am truly blessed and grateful to have all the support from my family, friends, clients, co-workers, and REIGN.  Thank you all for supporting my business, giving me advices and tips, and believing in me.

Sincerely,

Jennifer
